Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026

These Terms govern access to and use of Obolo. Obolo is an early-stage public draft; some provisions will be finalized before general availability.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, connecting to the gateway, or using any part of Obolo, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you accept on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. Obolo is an early-stage public draft and these Terms may be updated before general availability.

2. Description of the service

Obolo is a gateway and marketplace for MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers built for AI agents. We route your agents’ tool calls to MCP tools through a single endpoint and a single API key, and we act as the merchant of record for transactions processed on the platform. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time as the product evolves.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your credentials and API keys secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account and keys. You must be of legal age in the jurisdiction in which Obolo operates and able to enter into contracts. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at hola@obolo.dev.

4. Prepaid balance, billing, and refunds

Obolo runs on a prepaid balance. You load funds in advance, and each tool call is charged against that balance at the target server’s published price, plus applicable platform fees. You can configure spend caps to limit consumption. Balance already consumed by executed calls is non-refundable. Unused prepaid balance may be refunded at our discretion and subject to payment-processor fees. Prices may change with reasonable notice.

5. Acceptable use

You must not abuse the service or the upstream servers we route to. You may not attempt to breach, overload, or attack Obolo or any target server; circumvent spend caps, rate limits, or security controls; scan, scrape, or probe the infrastructure without authorization; use the service for unlawful activity, fraud, or malware distribution; or violate the rate limits and terms of the upstream servers. Respect rate limits and use the service in good faith.

6. Publisher terms

If you publish an MCP server on Obolo, you are responsible for your server, its content, its availability, and its legal compliance. The default revenue split is 80/20: the publisher keeps 80% of the net revenue generated by their server and Obolo keeps 20%. To receive payouts you must complete ownership verification for the server; until then, revenue may be held. You represent that you hold the necessary rights to what you publish, and you indemnify Obolo against claims arising from your server or its content.

7. Third-party MCP servers

Obolo’s catalog includes crawled servers not yet claimed by their owner, alongside verified servers. Obolo distinguishes two verification tiers (crawled / verified). Crawled or unclaimed servers are provided "as is" and are use-at-your-own-risk: we do not control or guarantee their behavior, availability, or security. Metrics shown for unverified servers are illustrative and are not a warranty. Always assess a third-party server’s suitability before routing sensitive traffic to it.

8. Intellectual property

Obolo and its trademarks, software, interface, and documentation are owned by Obolo or its licensors and protected by applicable law. You acquire no rights in them except the limited, revocable license to use the service under these Terms. You retain ownership of your own content and of the content of the servers you publish; you grant us the license needed to operate, display, and route that content within the service.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Obolo is an early-stage product provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, nor the accuracy of illustrative metrics or the behavior of third-party servers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Obolo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, and our total aggregate liability is limited to the amounts actually paid to Obolo in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Suspension, termination, and changes

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your use endangers the service or third parties, or if required by law. You may stop using the service at any time. On termination, your usage licenses end; unused prepaid balance is handled under Section 4. We may update these Terms and will notify you of material changes by reasonable means; continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Obolo operates, without giving effect to conflict-of-laws rules. As this is an early-stage public draft, the specific jurisdiction and venue will be finalized before general availability. For questions about these Terms, contact us at hola@obolo.dev.
